The ice cream shop analogy usually helps. Imagine walking by your favorite spot. They’re discounting your usual flavor because the new one isn’t selling well. Or maybe the supply chain choked. Suddenly. You save a pretty penny.

Now replace dairy with 641 horsepower.

Hyundai is dropping the price of the 2026 Ioniq 5 N. Hard.

$6300 cheaper. That’s not a typo. The previous 2025 model started at $67800. This year it’s $61500. You get that extra breathing room in the wallet for basically the same car. Wait. It’s not exactly the same.

There are changes. Small ones, but noticeable if you know where to look.

  • Charging: They killed the CCS port. Now it’s a NACS port. Native.
  • Drifting: The Drift mode used to have one stage. Now? Ten. Selectable. Pick your chaos.
  • Accessories: Comes with Level 1 and 2 chargers. Plus adapters. For CCS. So you don’t miss your old way.
  • Windows: Auto up/down. Finally.
  • Safety & Style: A new paint option and a driver awareness warning. Standard stuff now.

Why the drop?

Probably because the sibling is stuck in limbo.

The Ioniq 6 N. The sedan. The sharper one. Hyundai killed the regular Ioniq 6 in the US. Smart move or bad press? Hard to say. But the sporty 6 N? Still coming. They say.

“Extremely limited availability.” That’s the code for “we aren’t ready” or “good luck getting one.” No price tag yet. No solid date. Just “sometime this year.”

So the SUV coupe eats the discount. The sedan waits.

Is $61,500 still too much for an electric performance crossover? Maybe. Maybe not.

You decide. The charger is faster now anyway. Or at least easier to use if you’re plugged into the right grid.
