Zeekr has unveiled the interior of its upcoming 8X plug-in hybrid SUV, revealing a cabin design heavily inspired by its flagship 9X model. Scheduled for release in Q2 2026, the 8X is positioned as a premium offering, blending high-end features with performance technology.

Cabin Design and Technology

The 8X interior centers around a dual-screen infotainment system, comprising a central display and a dedicated screen for the front passenger. The cockpit maintains a minimalist approach with a column-mounted gear selector and tactile physical controls for key functions like seat heating, ventilation, and massage.

Rear passengers benefit from a roof-mounted entertainment screen and integrated window blinds. A standout feature is the inclusion of a high-fidelity Naim audio system, enhancing the in-cabin experience. The vehicle also incorporates wireless charging and dual front cup holders, mirroring the luxury amenities found in the 9X.

Technical Specifications and Performance

The Zeekr 8X operates on the SEA-S super hybrid architecture and boasts impressive power specifications. It will be available with two ternary lithium battery options (55.1 kWh and 70 kWh) sourced from CATL-Geely, supporting a 6C charging rate for rapid replenishment.

The powertrain combines a 2.0T engine from Aurobay Technologies (205 kW) with a tri-motor system, delivering a combined output of 1,030 kW (1,381 hp). The 8X offers electric ranges of 256 km, 257 km, and 328 km (WLTC).

Market Positioning and Sales Context

Zeekr reported a 70% year-over-year increase in vehicle deliveries in February 2026, with 23,867 units sold. The 8X targets the 450,000 yuan (approximately $65,217 USD) segment, positioning it between the existing 7X and 9X models. This places it in direct competition with vehicles like the Li Auto L9, which delivered 31,165 units in the same period.

The exterior design includes an active intelligent grille and a distinctive coastline-style taillight with 54,894 diamond-shaped facets. Advanced driver-assistance systems are supported by a roof-mounted LiDAR unit and Zeekr’s Haohan AI digital chassis.

This launch is crucial for Zeekr, as the plug-in hybrid market continues to expand. The 8X’s blend of luxury, performance, and advanced technology aims to capture a significant share of the high-end automotive segment.
