Geely’s Zeekr brand has released a limited-edition version of its flagship 001 electric liftback to celebrate the model’s fifth anniversary. The new variant, dubbed the “5th Anniversary Edition,” features significant performance upgrades, aggressive styling, and a focus on track-ready handling.
Evolution of a Flagship
The Zeekr 001 first launched in China in 2021 and has since become a key model for the brand, with over 301,720 units delivered by February 2026. The vehicle has seen continuous improvements, including a power increase from 400 kW (536 hp) to 580 kW (778 hp) in 2024, and now, a further boost to 680 kW (912 hp) with the latest update. This relentless pursuit of power is critical in China’s hypercompetitive EV market, where brands constantly push boundaries.
Performance and Handling
The anniversary edition stands out with its FR-Line package, a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering the peak 680 kW output. This translates to blistering acceleration and impressive top speed. But the real story is the suspension: Zeekr partnered with German firm KW to develop a fully adjustable coilover system.

This level of engineering speaks to Zeekr’s ambition to compete with established European performance brands. The suspension offers 16-level rebound damping and 12-level compression adjustment, with up to 35 mm of ride height control.
Styling and Interior Details
The exterior is aggressive, with 22-inch forged wheels, Pirelli P Zero tires, and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler. The Glacier Silver body color is paired with red accents. Inside, the FR-Line theme continues with red Alcantara seats, black checkered flag patterns, and red seatbelts. The cabin also features a suede headliner and 29 speakers. These aesthetic choices reinforce the vehicle’s sporty identity.
Long-Term Strategy
Despite speculation about a potential replacement, Zeekr has confirmed that the 001 will remain a core model for the foreseeable future. The anniversary edition is not simply a cosmetic upgrade; it’s a statement of intent. Zeekr is doubling down on the 001 as a platform for high-performance EVs, and this version will appeal to buyers who prioritize track-ready capability and aggressive styling.
The Zeekr 001 5th Anniversary Edition will launch in China on April 10th. The vehicle is also sold in Europe, Central Asia, and North America, further solidifying its global presence.
