Lotus is releasing a special edition of its Emira sports car named “Scura,” meaning “darkness” in Italian. Only 60 units will be available in North America, making it one of the rarest models Lotus will offer in the region.
Distinctive Design and Performance Features
The Scura stands out with its Satin Nebulous Grey exterior, complemented by a gloss black roof, mirror caps, and 20-inch forged wheels. Red brake calipers add a striking contrast to the dark theme. The car is also equipped with the Driver’s Pack, which includes a sport suspension and high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
Interior Details
The interior features red Alcantara seats with contrast stitching, a red steering wheel, and red seatbelts. Additional features include privacy glass and a premium 10-speaker KEF audio system.
Engine Options and Performance
The Emira Scura will be available with the same engine options as the standard Emira. Customers can choose between:
- A Mercedes-AMG sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 400 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 181 mph.
- A supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 400 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission, achieving 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 180 mph.
Limited Availability and Pricing
Production of the Emira Scura begins later this month. Pricing has not yet been announced but is expected to be higher than the standard Emira, which starts at $106,900 for the four-cylinder model and $112,900 for the V6 variant.
The limited availability of the Scura makes it a highly exclusive and sought-after model for Lotus enthusiasts. The combination of unique aesthetics and performance upgrades ensures it will stand out as a rare gem in the sports car market.
