Bugatti has unveiled the F.K.P. Hommage, a unique one-off hypercar built as a tribute to the late Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the visionary leader who resurrected the Bugatti brand two decades ago. This isn’t merely a nostalgic revival; it’s a testament to an era when automotive ambition knew no bounds. Commissioned by an anonymous client, the F.K.P. Hommage merges the iconic design of the original Veyron with the technological advancements of the Chiron, creating what Bugatti calls a “last dance” for the road-conquering legend.

A Vision Realized

Piëch, during his tenure at Volkswagen Group, insisted on a Bugatti that defied convention. His goal was simple yet audacious: a car exceeding 1,000 horsepower, capable of over 400 km/h, and refined enough for any setting. As Hendrik Malinowski, Bugatti’s managing director, stated, Piëch didn’t see obstacles—only challenges. The F.K.P. Hommage embodies that spirit, blending classic proportions with modern engineering prowess.

Refined Design, Uncompromising Power

The F.K.P. Hommage is built on the Chiron chassis but cloaked in bespoke carbon fiber bodywork. The design maintains the Veyron’s unmistakable silhouette while incorporating subtle refinements, such as a solid-block aluminum horseshoe grille that seamlessly flows into the body. Larger air intakes feed the more powerful engine, while the signature air ducts behind the occupants remain, a nod to the original’s aggressive styling. New 20/21-inch wheels, paired with Michelin’s latest tire technology, complete the look. The two-tone red and black paint scheme is a direct callback to the very first Veyron produced in 2005.

A Legacy of Speed and Luxury

Bugatti Design Director Frank Heyl points out that the Veyron single-handedly created the million-euro hypercar segment. The car was equally at home on the racetrack and in front of the opera. The F.K.P. Hommage celebrates this duality, offering both extreme performance and unparalleled refinement. The interior features machined aluminum components, inspired by the original Bugatti EB 18.4 Veyron concept, and even houses an integrated Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon watch—per the owner’s request.

Engineering Marvel

At the heart of the F.K.P. Hommage lies Bugatti’s iconic 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine. This powerplant, a triumph of engineering, is remarkably compact, fitting within a 645-millimeter space despite its complexity. The F.K.P. Hommage leverages the most potent iteration of this engine from the Chiron Super Sport, delivering 1,578 horsepower and exceeding Piëch’s original ambition of breaking the 300 mph barrier. Upgrades include larger turbochargers, enhanced intercoolers, and a reinforced gearbox to handle the colossal 1,600 Nm of torque.

Exclusive Craftsmanship

The F.K.P. Hommage is part of Bugatti’s Solitaire program, which limits production to only two highly customized “masterpieces” per year. This program allows clients to completely reimagine both the bodywork and interior of their chosen base car, drawing inspiration from Bugatti’s rich heritage. The F.K.P. Hommage stands as a final, extraordinary celebration of a bygone era, proving that some legacies are worth revisiting.

The F.K.P. Hommage isn’t just a car; it’s a statement – an echo of ambition, engineering, and the relentless pursuit of automotive perfection. It marks the end of an era while simultaneously reaffirming Bugatti’s commitment to pushing boundaries.
