BMW is preparing a significant mid-life overhaul for its X1 compact SUV, slated for release in 2027. The update will see the X1 range split into two distinct lines: one powered by internal combustion engines (ICE) and the other fully electric. While the all-new iX1 EV represents a complete redesign, the ICE-powered X1 will retain the current generation’s body and chassis from the A-pillar rearward.
