Engineering a Powerhouse
At the heart of the 4RR is a heavily modified 2.0-liter turbocharged K20C four-cylinder engine, sourced from the Honda Type R. However, this is far from a standard off-the-shelf unit. Ariel has re-engineered the engine to function as a bespoke racing powerplant, incorporating several high-end upgrades:
- Internal Reinforcements: The engine features closed deck sleeves, custom forged pistons, and specialized connecting rods.
- Precision Valvetrain: A new alloy valve set, improved springs, and a custom camshaft ensure the engine can handle high RPMs reliably.
