New spy photos confirm that the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will closely resemble previously leaked patent images, offering the clearest look yet at the upcoming full-size pickup.

Design Confirmation

The next-generation Silverado’s exterior is now visible through tighter camouflage, closely matching design elements revealed in a United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) filing from last year. Despite GM’s disclaimer that patents do not always reflect future products, the observed details align almost perfectly with the leaked images.

The front end will feature a distinctive grille bisected by a bar connecting high-mounted daytime running lights, mirroring the patent designs. Lower C-shaped headlight units are also partially visible. The rear of the truck showcases taillights that extend further into the bedsides, along with a tailgate shape consistent with the patent filings and integrated side steps.

Powertrain & Trims

The Silverado will retain a solid rear axle, despite GM’s newer SUVs adopting a more advanced multilink suspension. Spy shots suggest at least three trim levels: mid-range LT models with 20-inch wheels (one optimized for off-road use with Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner AT tires) and a potential top-tier High Country with Bridgestone Alenza all-season tires.

The powertrain lineup is expected to include a small-block V-8, with the current turbocharged four-cylinder and diesel six-cylinder engines likely continuing into the next generation.

Launch Timeline

General Motors plans to officially reveal the 2027 Silverado later this year, confirming the model’s launch as a 2027 vehicle. The close alignment between spy photos and prior patent filings indicates that the production version will closely reflect the design that has already been previewed.

The convergence of these details suggests that GM is sticking closely to its planned design direction for the Silverado, signaling a straightforward transition into the next generation.
